Brian Leslie
Brian Leslie is Australia's leading auctioneer and judge and a noted breeder of Holsteins. With 29 years experience in the dairy industry, Brian is renowned for his impressive pedigree knowledge of all breeds of dairy cattle around the world.

Brian became an auctioneer in 1979 after leaving school. Beginning work at Warragul selling bobby calves, Brian began judging calf shows, and due in part to his photographic memory for recalling pedigrees, he quickly worked his way up to become undisputedly Australia's leading auctioneer. Throughout his career Brian has sold the record price for all dairy breeds and sold at the largest dairy sales in Australia.

Since 1988 Brian has sold Australian breeds at record sales throughout Australia and New Zealand, and assisted with prominent sales in Canada. Most recently, Brian sold the highest and second highest average for Angus Beef sales in Australia.

As Australia's most successful auctioneer, Brian has been invited to judge at some of the world's largest cattle sales and shows. Most notably, Brian is the only Australian invited to judge Holsteins in Canada for the past 30 years and has actually done so ten times including the Royal Winter Fair in 1998 and Hays Scotiabank Classic (380 head). Nationally, Brian has judged at least once at all of the Royal Shows in Australia for most dairy breeds. Brian has judged a number of times at New Zealand's major shows including three times at the Dairy Expo and has judged at Germany's National Show.

Brian is also involved in the management of his family stud; Leslie Farms. Today Leslie Farms is run by Don and Norma and also brothers Keith, Dean and Brian and consists of 500 registered Holsteins. Herd milking average is 9,000 litres, and the classification is 15 Excellent and over 300 Very Good. As breeders, Leslie Farms has won a number of prizes at Australia's leading dairy shows and sales. At International Dairy Week (IDW), Leslie Farms has won Premier Exhibitor and Breeder many times and has 13 Championship titles. They have also sold cattle at the top price twice at IDW's 'Semex Spectacular Sale', including IDW 2003 that reached $40,000.

 

Lee Hamilton
Lee Hamilton has been a dairy marketing specialist in Northern Victoria for the past 11 years.

He is married with 3 boys and enjoys spending time with them camping, outdoor activities and playing football.

Prior to becoming a dairy specialist Lee and Sharon dairy farmed in Rochester milking 200 Holstein cows under the Leesha prefix, and he still enjoys time on the farm

Lee holds various positions with the Rochester Junior Football Club
 

Lawrie Flanagan
Lawrie Flanagan has been in the Agency business for 10 years after spending 30 years developing Woodlawn Holstein Stud.

He spent time serving HFAA as both a Federal and State delegate and eventuslly became State President.

He also served on the Classification committee for HFAA and has judged show in all States except Queensland.

With his wife, Lynne and sons Marcus and Nicholas, Lawrie has bred one of the higher profile Holstein herds in the Riverina - They currently milk 500 cows producing 4.5 million litres annually
 

Peter Male
Peter Male has been involved in the dairy industry all of his life through his involvement with the families Holstein stud Creswick Holsteins based in Caldermeade, West Gippsland.

Peter was previously heavily involved in the lucrative live heifer trade with a major agribusiness before starting with DLS. He has been lucky enough to have the opportunities to travel extensively throughout Asia, The Middle East, New Zealand and Mexico broadening his knowledge of the worldwide dairy industry.
He is also involved in the West Gippsland Holstein Sub –branch. Peter is based in Caldermeade and will service the Gippsland & Bega area.
 
Merryn Anderson
Merryn has spent all of her working life( 26 years) in the Agency business in administration roles including Payroll, Human Resources and for the past 15 years has been working with Brian Leslie in a dairy administration support role.

She is an avid follower of the Carlton Football Club.
 

David Pemberton
David has been involved in the Agribusiness industry for 30 years and has worked throughout Victoria, New South Wales and Tasmania.

David has held senior executive positions with major pastoral firms including State Livestock Manager, State Operations Manger, Regional Manager and has worked extensively in the Livestock, Wool, Real Estate, and Merchandise fields.

David held the position of State General Manager for Elders Victoria/Riverina and Tasmania for the last seven years. Now he has recently started a rural consultancy business and is a Director of Dairy Livestock Services.
 

Scott Lord
Scott has worked in the stock and station agency business for 24 years, Scott was raised in the Timboon region of Victoria.

Scott started his career at the former Newmarket centre in Melbourne. He learnt the ropes as a trainee and then spent time in Deniliquin, Jerilderie and Griffith as a livestock salesperson. He moved into branch management at Griffith and then went to Ballarat as an Area Manager for Elders Limited. Scott progressed into a State Management role and spent 7 years as the Elders State Livestock Manager for Victoria/Riverina. Scott is a Director of Dairy Livestock Services.
 

Andrew Mackie
Andrew Mackie has been a Dairy Specialist for 6 years prior to that he has always been involved with farming activities having been born and bred on a stud Holstein farm. He has been a Farm Manager, milked own herd for 3 years, has a livestock transport business for 6 years.

Andrew has shown and sold at IDW since its inception and been involved with the local HFAA sub-branch for many years holding positions as President, Secretary and Treasurer.

He has played 250 games of football at Local club, become a life member and Premiers 4 times.

Andrew still has a small stud of Holsteins "Burn-Brae" which 30 cows plus heifers and bulls
 

Phil Malcolm
Joins DLS' dairy team bringing with him a wealth of experience having owned and operated high profile Master Breeder herd Wiabuna Holsteins in Gippsland.

Phil has judged all breeds and at Royal Shows throughout Australasia. His involvement with Holstein Australia included him serving on the classification committee and as Victorian president. Phil was also a co-founder in this country of ABS Australia, together with Graeme Gillan. The pair most notably introduced famous Jersey sire Lester and the Holstein sire of sons, Juror. Their combination propelled ABS into a force in the AI industry.

After dispersing Wiabuna, Phil established and milked a large commercial herd at Caldermeade for a decade. During that time he also designed and established an extremely successful metropolitan-style café and tourism enterprise. Phil now resides in Shepparton.
 

Brian Burgess
Brian and his wife Edith live at Gerringong, NSW and acts as our NSW dairy specialist. Brian has been in the industry for 53 years with 34 as the owner of 'Willowleigh' Holstein Stud. To add this experience Brian spent 13 years as an Executive Member of NSW Dairy Farmers Association, 14 years as the Vice Chairman and Executive Member of HFAA and has 19 years experience as a dairy stock agent.

Brian feels a great advantage for dairy clients is having a marketing agent like DLS totally focussed on the dairy industry.

Brian Haebich

Brian has been in Dairy all his life, his family has overseen South Australia's oldest Holstein stud, founded in 1943. In the show ring Brian won Supreme Champion at the 2001 Adelaide Royal and Junior Champion Heifers at IDW 2002

In 2004 he down-sized the "Athol Farm" herd and has since based himself on the outskirts of Murray Bridge.

Brian has been involved in the agency over the last few years and will continue to service through to Adelaide and the Fleurieu Peninsula of South Australia

A keen fisherman and Port Adelaide fan, Brian's passion clearly lies in the Dairy Industry.
 

Mark Collins

Having been raised on a Dairy farm in the Simpson district, the heart of the Heytesbury settlement, Mark has never left the Dairy Industry.
Growing up he became heavily involved in all aspects of the Inductry, working with Cobden AB since he was 18 and later a board representative. In that time he was also President of the local herd test association.

He now runs his own Breeding Services business specialising as an AI technician working as a reseller for various AB companies covering the South East of South Australia and Western District.

Dairy Agency is an aspect Mark enjoys as he is always on farm assisting vendors with their mating program.

A keen fisherman (when time avails) and a father of two sons.

Luke Russell

Luke has been involved in agency for the last 8 years being born and raised on a dairy farm, he has a strong passion for the Industry and continues to have an involvement with the family farm at Neerim South - Tallelms Holstein Stud.

Luke has broadened hsi knowledge across the Dairy Industry with buying nas selling cattle throughout Victoria. He has been auctioneering over recent years, weekly sales at Warragul prime market the highlight being conducting the 2008 Elite Genetic Merit Sale at Larder Park.

Luke resides in Warragul with his wife Tara and is an avid footballer, playing for Trafalgar and also supporting the Carlton Football Club.

  Tracy Sheridan

Tracy joins the team as Administration Officer, assisting with office requirements and processing to ensure clients receive the quality service DLS pride themselves for. Tracy will also provide support to manage the financial requirements of the business. Tracy has spent 25 plus years working in the rural industry, particularly in the world of livestock marketing. Tracy comes from Alexandra and similarly to Merryn is an avid supporter of the Carlton Football Club - quite a duo.
John & Margeret Cochrane

John with his wife Margaret are based at Gympie in Queensland. They currently conduct a Real Estate business and in recent times have added a Dairy Livestock Agency business, as a licensed Auctioneer.

John has run a dairy in his own right for the past 30 years, milking up to 1000 cows which is now being managed by one of his two sons.

He is currently the Chairman of Premium Milk, an organisation representing Queensland farmers supplying to Parmalat milk. He has held the State Presidency of the HFAA on two occasions as well as Director of Queensland Dairyfarmers Organisation.
